4.3 - GENERAL RULES FOR THE DISPOSAL
ATTENTION!
DISPOSAL OF THE EQUIPMENT MUST BE
NOTIFIED TO THE NATIONAL AUTHORITIES
(INAIL, ARPA, ASL) AND MUST BE CARRIED
OUT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE COMPUL-
SORY LEGISLATION ON INDUSTRIAL WASTE
DISPOSAL.
4.2 - MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Carry out the following checks:
- check the mechanical and electrical efficiency of the control,
adjustment and safety devices,
- open the door and cleaning door and thoroughly clean the
coil from the soot using a high-pressure washer. Remove all
soot from the coil and from the cleaning door,
- adjust the sealing of all gaskets on the fumes side,
- promptly replace defective gaskets smoke side if affecting
the front door to prevent the high temperature gas leaks from
causing local overheating with possible deformation of the
structure,
- check the hydraulic sealing of the system (gaskets, valves,
pumps) and eliminate any oil drip or leak,
- periodically check the alignment and wear of the circulation
pump joint,
- check the status of the feed pump,
- check the combustion parameters,
- check the state of clogging of the diathermic oil filter (through
the pressure gauges located before and after) and, if neces-
sary, clean it,
- check the tightness of the fuel supply system: this check is
very important especially when using gaseous fuels,
After having performed maintenance and cleaning operations,
repeat the preliminary checks to switch-on, check the burner
calibration and analyse the flue gas to verify the correctness.
Diathermic oil check
Every six months it is necessary to chemically analyse the dia-
thermic oil to check that its features are still intact.
The diathermic oil approximately lasts 20000 hours of opera-
tion: this value can significantly vary depending on the operat-
ing temperature (if it is close to the maximum limit specified for
the oil, the duration decreases a lot) and the proper operation
of the system.
For the oil analysis, the sampling and frequency of checks refer
to the manufacturer/supplier of the diathermic oil or companies
that specialise in the maintenance of these systems (they also
dehydrate the oil and clean inside the pipes).
Use the outlet on the system dedicated to the oil sample with-
drawal.
If the analysis indicate that the oil is deteriorated, replace it
completely.
Do not partially replace the old oil, otherwise it will ruin the new
one.
After draining the old oil from the system, we recommend clean-
ing inside the pipes (performed by specialised companies) if
the replaced oil was very deteriorated (possible presence of
solid deposits inside the generator coil): otherwise cleaning is
entrusted to the new oil.
