It is possible to calculate theoretically the number in kilograms of the sown seeds in
respect of 1 hectare. To do this the following formula must be used:

10.2.6. ADJUSTING OF SOWING DEPTA.
Depth of sowing /depth of disc coulter/ depends on the adjustment of the working
angle of the pressing shaft /Figure 17/.

Adjusting of the depth of sowing must be performed practically each time before field
works are planned to be started. To do this, the following procedure must be
followed:
- fill the seed box with seed for sowing /section 10.2.4./,
- perform control sowing, approximately 10 meter-long,
- make sure that the depth at which seeds are placed is correct,
- correct the sowing depth, if need arises.
There are two pressing shaft holders installed on the sowing machine frame /1/. To
adjust the required sowing depth it is necessary to raise or lower the pressing shaft
holders /1/ and then protect them with the use of pins /3/. Make sure that the pressing
shaft is installed in the same hole in case of both holders /1/.
