NM:
(Noise Margin) indicates the value (expressed in dB) of the reception margin. The
greater the value, the greater the reception margin.
RU:
number of errors not corrected (from 0 to 65535), followed by the indication of the
time during which the errors were counted. The timer, as well as the indication of the
errors, will be reset when the QPSK signal is not locked.
CH BER:
Indication of the errors present in the channel prior to the corrections. Represents
the most important index for evaluating the quality of the signal present within the system.
It can be instantaneously measured along with all of the signals (from optimal to mediocre).
It is very sensitive to environmental and meteorological conditions (temperature, humidity
and cloudiness), as well as the efficiency of the cable, the amplifiers and all of the
components contained within a reception and distribution system. Also allows for the
optimization of satellite dish positioning.
pV BER (BCHBER in DVB-S2 mode):
indication of the errors present after the respective
corrections of the VITERBI or LDCP stage.
7.2.1.
USE OF THE CARD
Set the frequency of the digital channel, the voltage of the LNB and the 22 kHz tone. It may
be useful to visually check for the presence of the digital signal by configuring the
instrument in spectrum analyzer mode. To activate the card, press the
DIGI
button.
In order for the module to function properly, the indicated “PWR index” level must be “OK”.
Use the attenuator if necessary.
Note
: Use the lowest possible attenuation compatible with the “OK” indication.
Proceed in the following manner to configure the MODE and SYMBOL RATE parameters:
1.
Press the
MENU
button and turn the
DIAL
to select the PARAMETERS item
2.
Press the
ENTER
button. The cursor will appear on the screen over the MODE item.
Press
ENTER
to enter selection mode.
3.
Turn the Shaft Encoder to select DVBS or DVBS2 mode.
4.
Press
ENTER
again to confirm the selection.
In order to select the “
