S-BOON remove the product from operation immediately until any
occurring irregularities have been remedied.
4.Intended use
The S-BOON is a medical product for the immobilization of patients with severe head and
backbone injuries when they have to be lifted, repositioned or transported.
The “S-BOON” spineboard can also be used for X-ray, MRI and CT scans.
4.1 Cautions
1. A specialist medical assessment must be conducted before the injured
party is moved, lifted or transported.
2. To ensure the patient’s safety, at least 2 users are required to operate
the S-BOON.
3. The injured party must be immobilised on the S-BOON during every use.
Insufficient or no restraint may lead to severe patient or rescuer injuries.
4. Serious incidents that have occurred in connection with the product
must be reported by the user and / or patient to the manufacturer and
the competent authority of the Member State in which the user and / or
patient is established.
4.2 Use
1. The S-BOON is applied depending on the injury and local conditions.
2. If the injured person is shorter than 1.20 m, we recommend using the straps SAN-0281
or SAN-0286.
3. After the patient is placed on the spinboard, their head can be fixed with the
ultraHEADLOCK I or II.
4. Fixing with the straps is done
1. at the height of the chest, arms can also be fixed
2. at the height of the pelvis and
3. below the patella.
