Fasten all 3 patient safety belts. The locking of the buckles must always audibly
click into place. To be on the safe side, a quick check should be carried out
by pulling the appropriate point. Make sure that the patient’s breathing is not
hindered by pulling the belts and that the belts do not put pressure on the
possible injuries.
If the patient is not yet lying securely on the S-BOON, additional straps can be
used.

If the fixing on the spineboard is done using the strap spider system
(ultraSTRAPS), the Y-shaped part of the system is positioned towards the shoulder,
the rest of the strap is placed over the patient along the middle.The patient is
strapped loosely from head to foot.Thereafter, the Velcro straps are tightened in
the same sequence till be patient is securely bound on the spineboard.

Check straps and fasteners before lifting and transporting the patient. Ideally,
the transport takes place with 4 to 6 users, who can each reach into the recesses
provided (recessed grips).
5. Cleaning and care
Use mild soap and warm water (40°C) to clean the S-BOON.
For disinfection, you can use commercially available, alcohol-based agents. Other
solutions or cleaning chemicals may damage the material of the straps, carabiner hooks
and clasps.
Allow the wet transportation suspension to dry naturally and keep it away from direct heat
exposure.
6. Maintenance
In order to ensure the safety of the injured party and the user, we recommend that you
have the S-BOON visually inspected by an expert at least once a year. Appointed auditors
must be demonstrably adequately qualified.
