Protective Apparel
As with all on- and off-road 2×2s, motorcycles, and
mopeds, basic safety apparel should be worn to
protect yourself.
You MUST always:
A
Wear a well-fitting helmet securely fastened
that provides good all-round visibility.
New Zealand and Australia require you to
wear a helmet that meets AS/NZS 1698:2006
for road use. For off-road use under 30km/h
you may use a helmet that meets NZS 8600.
The US requires you to wear a helmet that is
DOT compliant.
A
Wear adequate protective clothing and
sturdy, fully enclosed shoes to protect your
feet and ankles.
We also recommend you:
A
Make yourself easy to see by wearing
reflective or high visibility clothing.
A
Wear gloves to protect yourself from
knocks, scrapes, and the elements.
A
Wear eye protection if your helmet does not
provide it to protect yourself from branches,
stones, and the elements.
