EVENING FOUR
Tonight we will assemble the Power Cartridge and perform final assembly on your plane. IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST R/C AIRPLANE,
PLEASE HAVE A HOBBY DEALER OR VERY EXPERIENCED R/C MODELER CHECK YOUR PC ASSEMBLY PRIOR TO ATTEMPTING TO FLY YOUR PLANE.

4.01 Install servos. Install your servos as shown in the illustration. Use appropriate screws, rubber grommets and
bushings as supplied with your radio. The elevator and rudder servo horns are located on the bottom of the PC and the
throttle servo horn is on top. Note that the elevator servo is on the right side of the PC and the rudder servo is on the left.

4.02 Install the tank in the PC. The hole for the tank is designed to be snug enough to retain the tank during flight.
Don't loosen it up. If you use a properly balanced prop, you will not experience significant fuel foaming. The brass tubes
should protrude about 3/4" from the end of the tank cap and be positioned on top of the tank hole.
4.03 Trial fit your engine to the engine mount area on the PC. It is designed to fit a typical ball-bearing .40 sized 2-stroke
or up to a .50 sized 4-stroke engine. Trim if necessary, but keep the mount close on each side of the engine to permit lots of
purchase for your screws or bolts. A little bit of right thrust or zero thrust is suitable, but in no case do you want any left thrust.
Using blind nuts and bolts, or appropriate pan head screws, attach your engine to the mount. Consult your local hobby dealer
for appropriate engine mounting hardware.
NOTE - SEE DISCUSSION IN EVENING ONE, PC CONSTRUCTION, REGARDING ENGINE SIZE AND SELECTION.
4.04 Install throttle linkage. For a throttle linkage, we use 1/16" wire with a Z-bend in the throttle servo arm and an
adjustable connector or clevis & keeper at the carburetor. Since your throttle servo will not be accessible when the PC is
in the fuselage, this allows you to adjust the throw of the throttle from outside the aircraft without having to pull the PC. We
run the throttle wire directly from the servo arm to the carburetor, around the right side of the tank.
4.05 Install radio and battery Using 1" wide self-adhesive Velcro® strips, install "loop" sides of the Velcro on your
battery pack and radio. Install matching "hook" Velcro on the PC where shown. Install the battery on the top of the PC and
the radio on the bottom. We've found that the Velcro does a good job of vibration damping, and the position of the radio
components behind the flex tank provides some protection in the event of a crash. If desired, you may also wrap your radio
and battery with foam before installing the Velcro.
