EVENING THREE
Tonight we will assemble the wing. You should already have built the spar on evening one. If not, go back to section one
and build the spar.
ASSEMBLY OF THE WING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF BUILDING THE PLANE AND SHOULD BE DONE ON A GOOD, FLAT WORKING
SURFACE. YOU MAY NEED ASSISTANCE DURING THIS STEP TO HELP INSURE YOU GET A STRAIGHT, WARP-FREE WING.
NOTE - IF BUILDING A "TURBO" WING, THIS IS THE TIME TO TRIM ALL AIRCORE PIECES AT THE ROOT END TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR SHORTER
WING. IF YOU ARE BUILDING THE STANDARD WING, SKIP THIS SECTION.
TURBO WING MODIFICATIONS
Building the Turbo wing is a simple modification that results in a faster, more acrobatic wing, perfect for experienced flyers
or novices proficient at landings and takeoffs with their high-wing trainers. If you have experience at flying, and you reliably
make good landings, we encourage you to build the TURBO!

3.01 First cut 3" off the root end of each spar (the non-angled end). Be precise with your measurement! When done,
assemble the spar exactly as in the first evening.
3.02 Measure 3" from the root on each wing half and remove the first three inches. Use a hobby knife with a new blade
and cut parallel to the flutes. Save the cut-off piece to use as a template to mark the remaining wing.
3.03 Place the removed 3" section on your remaining wing, at the root, and use a straight-pin to "poke" the prepunched
pin-holes into the new root section. Be precise when lining up the cut-off portion with the new wing root, because these
pin-holes locate the placement of ribs, spars, etc., later during construction.
3.04 Locate your ailerons and cut off exactly 3" from the end of each one.
3.05 Locate your aileron hinge strips. These strips have a tab on each end, one long and one short. The long tab glues
inside the wing at the root end and the short tab will be at the wing tip. Therefore, we need to cut 3" off of the root end of
the strip, and recreate the tab. Remove 3" from the long tab end of the hinge strip, then recreate the long tab on the
remaining piece by using the cut-off tab as a template.
Congratulations! You are now ready to build the TURBO wing!
