SET-UP ROUTINES
9.1. Stroke limits
The routine allows the actuator to be configured according to the type of valve that it is mounted on and to set the
stroke limits in automatic or manual mode.
The stroke limits calibration shall be done after having performed the
mechanical stroke limits setting (see par.15.1).
The following parameters will be set:
Ø
close
direction: clockwise (CW) or counter-clockwise (CCW) for quarter turn valve (ball, butterfly, etc.);
the majority of the valve requires (CW)
stem out (OUT) or stem in stem (IN) for linear valve (gate, parallel slide, globe etc.);
the majority of the valve requires (OUT).

stroke limits auto calibration, close stroke limit and open stroke limit manual calibration.
Set-up procedure:
•
Move the local selector to OFF and then press simultaneously OPEN and STOP. Select the language and then enter
the password according to the instructions “entering the set-up mode”. When the message of display is “SET-UP
MODE OK?” press YES. Press YES to select
actuator set-up
menu, and then press YES again to select the
stroke
limits
routine and again YES to scroll the list of available values.
•
Press YES if the CLOSE DIRECTION CW/OUT (stem out for liner actuator) is correct, press NO to change with
CLOSE DIRECTIPON CCW/IN. When the value is correct press YES
•
Press YES to select the AUTO CALIB operation and follow the menu instructions, or NO to select SET CLOSE
LIMIT
Close limit
•
Move the local selector to LOCAL. The local controls can be used.
•
Move the valve to closed position (by CLOSE control)
•
Move the local selector to OFF
•
Press YES to confirm
•
Press YES to set the open limit or press NO and again NO to repeat close limit setting procedure. Press NO and
then YES to exit from stroke limits routine
Press YES to confirm the gain K2 value, press NO to change and release the push-button to choose and then YES to
confirm

Move the local selector to LOCAL. The local controls become actives.
•
Move the valve to open position (by OPEN control)
•
Move the local selector to OFF
•
Press YES to confirm
•
Press YES to set the open limit or press NO and again NO to repeat open limit setting procedure. Press NO and
then YES to exit from stroke limits routine
•
Note
: if the parameter “
CLOSE DIRECTION
” is changed, both limits (open and close)
must
be set.
9.2. Purge
The routine allows to exhaust the air that could be present into the solenoid valves, during the start-up. The purge
operation should be performed immediately after the hydraulic connections, or after the solenoid valve installations
(see relevant par.).
The routine is also useful to perform the mechanical stroke limit of the actuator.
Set-up procedure:
•
Move the local selector to OFF and then press simultaneously OPEN and STOP. Select the language and then
enter the password according to the instructions “entering the set-up mode”. When the message of display is
“SET-UP MODE OK?” press YES. Press YES to select
actuator set-up
menu, and then press NO to scroll the list
of available routines and then press YES to select the
Purge
routine
.
•
Press YES to see the SPEED PWM “xx” value, press NO to change and release the push-button to choose(set as a
minimum value 50 %) and then YES to confirm;
•
Put the 3-position selector in LOCAL and perform the purge operation as described on par 15.3.The display shows
also the value of the stroke relevant to VEM 1 and VEM2;
•
Put the 3-position selector in OFF.
