PL0357 Issue A
Max Bridge Transmit Delay Bound
This control is used in association with QoS Configuration to control the time that packets may
be queued in the switch. If the packet is stored in the switch for a time exceeding the specified
amount, then it is dropped. These settings do not need to be changed except for networks
where time-sensitive prioritized traffic is used.
Max Bridge Transmit Delay Bound
If time bounded prioritisation is used then select this control and set it to a non-zero value i.e:-
•
1 Sec
•
2 Sec
•
4 Sec
Packets exceeding the specified time in the switch will be dropped. The default value is 0. Save
the settings.
Enable Delay Bound
This control works in a different manner in that it measures the time that a low priority packet
has been stored in the switch. If the stored time exceeds the value specified in the
Max Delay
Time
control, then the packet is sent. Ensure that the
Max Bridge Transmit Delay Bound
control contains a non-zero value. Save the settings.
Max Delay Time
This control specifies the duration in milli-seconds that a low priority packet can be stored in the
switch before it is automatically sent. The available range is 1ms to 255ms. This control works
in conjunction with the
Enable Delay Bound
control. Save the settings.
