Port VLAN Configuration
This menu section controls the VLAN configuration of the switch and is selected from the Switch
Configuration menu screen. The switch supports the following VLAN modes:-
•
Port based,
•
IEEE802.1Q
•
IEEE802.1Q with GVRP
The default configuration is
Disabled
.
Note that VLANs have to be enabled from the Console or Telnet sessions, as they
cannot be directly activated from the web browser in this version of software. This
limitation is being corrected in future versions of the software. Once the VLANs have
been enabled in via the console/Telnet session, the VLANs can be configured and
controlled via the web browser.
The first menu displayed is the overall VLAN control menu:-

This menu allows basic control of the VLAN and its membership. Select the
Configure VLAN
Type
menu option and a new screen is displayed. If the switch is in the default setting of
Disabled, then this will need to be changed to the required VLAN type listed above. Use the
<
Edit
> key in the action bar to move into the options area of the screen. Then use the <
Space
>
key to toggle through the VLAN options. In each case, a new screen is displayed with the
settings appropriate to the selected VLAN type.
