OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
e-health thermometer model TUCKY-21
INTRODUCTION
The Tucky thermometer has been designed to continuously and remotely measure the child’s temperature
and position.
It is recommended for children from birth to 7 years of age.
It is positioned under the armpit with a dedicated, double-sided adhesive, and sends the information gathered
to a smartphone application.
The temperature reading displayed is colour coded, indicating whether the temperature is normal or not.
Correspondence table for colour/axillary temperature:
Green
Normal temperature
Orange
High temperature
Red
Very high temperature
Grey
Temperature not representative
34.7°C to 37.3°C
37.3°C to 38.4°C
(default value)
higher than 38.4°C
(default value)
E.g. arm open*
NB: Rectal temperature is usually 0.7°C higher than axillary temperature.
The thermometer is adjusted in direct mode, i.e. it takes the actual axillary temperature, without making
adjustment calculations. You should therefore wait about fifteen minutes after fitting Tucky in order for the
temperature to stabilise.
* Axillary temperature varies according to the individual person (age, sex, type, skin colour), the time of
day and external factors (ambient temperature, clothing etc.) [1]. The measurements are least disturbed by
environmental conditions when the child’s arm is closed. Tucky ensures continuous monitoring.
It is normal
to observe variations in temperature caused by changes in environmental conditions or the position of the
arm.
However, the trend indicated by the curve remains significant. The measurement is considered not to be
representative when it is displayed in grey.
The default “very high temperature” value is set at 38.4°C and this value can be adjusted by the user based on
their knowledge of their child’s physiological data.
In case of Bluetoth disconnection, the data is no longer displayed. The connection is re-established automati-
cally when the communication is possible. As with all thermometers, it is essential to use the right technique to
obtain accurate temperatures. Therefore, please read the instructions carefully and in full before using Tucky.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
This product is solely for domestic use and child-minding.
The Tucky medical device is not designed for diagnosis, it’s a monitoring tool. The use of this medical device
must under no circumstances replace supervision of one’s child or consulting a doctor. If unusual signs or
symptoms appear in the child (vomiting, diarrhoea, dehydration etc.), even in the absence of a temperature,
parents must consult a doctor.
Consult your doctor if the temperature displayed is high. A persistent high fever requires medical treatment,
particularly in young children.
The device must not be used beyond the intended life cycle. Similarly, it is not recommended for the child to
wear Tucky for extended periods: it is recommended that it is not worn for longer than 24 hours.
Tucky may be used at an ambient temperature of b15°C and +35°C and stored at temperatures of
