12 General Information

12.1 Canine parvovirus

Keeping your dog wash clean.

The canine parvovirus is extremely virulent and contagious and is spread from
dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their faeces. The virus is extremely
hardy and has been found to survive in faeces and other organic material such
as soil for over a year. It survives extremely cold and hot temperatures. The only
household disinfectant that kills the virus is bleach. Canine parvovirus will not
infect humans.

If when carrying out your routine cleaning of your dog wash you discover dog
faeces  in  or  around  the  area,  we  suggest  this  be  removed  and  the  area
disinfected with a household bleach product.

This  is  a  very  small  piece  of  information  regarding  the  canine  parvovirus,  we
would  strongly  recommend  that  you  familiarise  yourself  with  more  detailed
