COLOR SELECTION
(Select Models Only)
Select Battery Packs include two different colored pairs of mounting ears (one pair black and one pair
grey) and an alternate (black) front panel. Owners of these Battery Packs can place the grey mounting
ears in front (next to the grey front panel) to match grey rack equipment, or may match black rack
equipment by switching the grey front panel on the unit for the alternate (black) front panel included
and placing the black mounting ears in front. (See mounting instructions for exact mounting ear
placement.)
If your Battery Pack model does not include an alternate front panel, you may be able to order one. Call
Tripp Lite Customer Support for information.
MOUNTING
2U BP Series Battery Packs may be mounted in rack, wall or tower configurations. 3U BP Series Battery
Packs are intended only for mounting in racks. Use the following suggested installation procedures as
guidelines for mounting your Battery Pack. Since racks and mounting surfaces differ greatly, you must
determine the fitness of your mounting hardware before attempting to mount the Battery Pack.
Suggested Rackmount
Installation for 3U Models
in 4-Post Enclosures
1)
Loosen the wingnuts (A) on each of the two
adjustable side supports (B); adjust the
length of the supports to match the depth of
your rack; tighten wingnuts. Mount both
side supports in the lowest space of your
rack on the inside surfaces of the rails with
user-supplied #10-32 rack bolts and wash-
ers (C).
Note: Both support ledges should
face inward. The side supports' front and
back holes are threaded and do not require
nuts to secure the rack bolts.
2)
Attach mounting ears (D) to the
front
mounting holes of the Battery Pack (E)
using the screws and washers provided (F).
Do
not
attach the mounting ears to the
Battery Pack's middle holes.
3)
Using an assistant if necessary, lift the Bat-
tery Pack and slide it onto the side supports
within your rack. Mount the battery pack
by screwing user-supplied rack bolts (G)
through its mounting ears, through the rack
rails and through the side supports.
