Starting the Fireplace for the First Time
+
Burn the fireplace at a high setting for an extended period (up to 48 hours). This will cure the painted
surfaces. Fumes from the paint curing and oil burning off the steel will occur. This is normal. We
recommend opening a window to vent the room.
+
Dust may accumulate inside the convection area of the fireplace when left idle. Once the fireplace is
re-started, a “smoky” smell may be created (similar to a baseboard fireplace when it is re-started).
+
Condensation may appear on the glass each time you start the fireplace - this is normal.
+
Blue Flames will occur on the fireplace when it first comes on. After fifteen minutes the flames will
turn a more realistic yellow and orange color.
?
Certain installations use a remote "wall switch" to turn the fireplace on and off. If this is the case, leave
the ON/OFF switch "ON".
