Testing smoke detector
The smoke detector should be tested before fitting. After fitting it should be
tested again. The smoke detector should be tested regularly thereafter, at least once
a month. Always test it when the battery is changed, when you have been away for a
while, or when it has been moved to another location.
1. Hold down the TEST button on the
smoke detector for
at
least two seconds
.
The alarm should sound loudly.
2. Check that the receiver installed in the alert system is activated and shows
the fire warning.
Choosing location
The smoke detector should be located centrally in the house. It is often best to locate
it directly outside the bedroom, see example in illustration. If the house has more
than one storey, there should be at least one smoke detector per floor in order to
provide adequate safety.
3. Hold down the flexible tongue and install the battery above it.
4. The smoke detector will now give a couple of short beeps,
indicating that the battery is connected and working.
5. Close the cover.
