6.1
IMPORTANT NOTES
The section is designed for the AIS Base Station maintenance department
engineers. The AIS users are not required to familiarize themselves with the
information given in this section.
Take special care when changing the AIS Base Station operation parameters,
because this may result in disrupted operation of not only the Base Station itself, but
of the entire AIS region and adjacent AIS regions.
The AIS Base Station Т 214 is supplied with standard settings complying with IEC-
62320-1 standard and acceptable for most applications. Do not alter these settings
without need. Changes in these settings should be made by the service engineer or
the user if he/she is familiar with the IEC-62320-1 requirements and has sufficient
understanding of the AIS operating principles set forth in this Manual. Wrong
settings can garble (destroy) VDL.
During the setup of the AIS Base Station T214 internal parameters it is advisable to
disconnect the VHF antenna.
The settings entered for the Base Station are applied immediately after the exit from
the Setup menu. No system restart is required.
6.2
SERVICE DISPLAY PROGRAM
All the rest settings of AIS Base Station T214 except mentioned above are carried
out with use of the program Service Display included in set of delivery.
6.2.1
Software versions and requirements to PC
To configure internal parameters of Base Station Service Display program is used.
It is on CD and included in set of delivery. It is delivered in two versions:
1. To PC with Windows XP/2000 – executive file is “ServiceDisplayXP.exe”.
2. To Pocket PC with Windows CE 4.21 - executive file is
“ServiceDisplayCE.exe”.
PC which will use ServiceDisplay program shall meet the following requirements:
1. To operate with correspondent version of operational system.
2. To have serial port RS 232.
3. To have resolution screen at least 320x240.
6.2.2
Program installation and start
Install program on PC by means of making copy of correspondent executive file in
local Folder.
Connect PC COM port to connector “Display” located on front panel of Base Station.
Start Service Display program.
