direct current by the six re c tifiers . T h is direct current voltage is actuated be
tween the 11B " terminal and the 11E " terminal. A ls o the output voltage of the
stator coil neutral point becom es higher, the pull-in fo r c e of the p re s s u re coil
in the voltage relay in c re a s e s , and the point " P o " contacts the point " P 2 " side,
resulting the ch a rge warning light to go out.
T h e s e points a re closed when the neutral point voltage reaches to 4 .5

volts, but the points a re closed while the engine is operated normelly •
If the alternator output voltage becom es higher than the voltage in the battery,
the output current starts flowing to the battery o r to the load. When the output
voltage in crea ses further, the pull-in fo r c e of the voltage coil in the voltage r e
gulator in c re a s e s . Due to this, the point T L o 11 opens from the low speed point
" P L 1 '!. A s the point opens, the exciting current to the rotor coil has to pass
the control resistance MR f M, and d e c r e a s e s , resulting to reduce the output volt
age at " B " terminal.
U nd er light load at high revolution, the point " P L o " contacts the high speed
point " P L 2 11, and the exciting current is further dec rea sed to control the nB n
terminal voltage to the specified voltage.
A s the output voltage is d e c re a s e d , the pull-in f o r c e of the voltage, coil d e c re a s e s ,
and the point MP L o M
returns to the point " P L l " . T h u s , the point " P L o " repeats
the intermittent movement to control the alternator output voltage.

a . T a k e c a r e when connecting any
test equipment onto the alter
nator as the alternator output

terminal is connected to
the battery at all times, and if
the ignition switch c lo s e s , the
voltage of the 11F M
terminal is
the sam e.
b. A l w a y s pay attention to the po
larity of the b a tte ry , not to
connect it onto the alternator
o ppositely.
If connected oppositely, la rg e
current flow s from the battery
to the
alternator so that the
re ctifiers a r e d a m a g e d , and
sometimes the fla sh er unit will
b u rn .
c . F o r quick charging the battery ,
make su re to disconnect the
battery to sta rter cab le.
If not, the re c tifier will be dam
aged .
d. N e v e r rotate the engine at high
speed with the " B " terminal
lead w i r e disconnected.
If disconnected, the voltage r e
gulator cannot operate and the
f.
voltage of the nN 11 terminal in
c r e a s e s abnormally so that the
voltage relay burns.
If it is n ecess ary to open the
" B " terminal, disconnect the
connector plug f o r the " F n t e r
minal at the same time.
F o r adjustment of the regulator,
make sure to disconnect the
connector plug.
If not, the points may be melted
and the fuse may be burnt.
T a k e c a r e not to wet the alter
nator rectifier diodes with w ater
o r steam when washing the
c a r .
N e v e r
connect a condenser
onto the 11F M
terminal.
