1. REMOVE FIELD FRAME AND ARMATURE
2. REMOVE STARTER HOUSING, CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AND GEAR
5. REMOVE ARMATURE FROM FIELD FRAME
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT COMMUTATOR FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
2. INSPECT COMMUTATOR FOR GROUND
3. INSPECT COMMUTATOR FOR DIRTY AND BURNT SURFACES
4. INSPECT COMMUTATOR CIRCLE RUNOUT
5. INSPECT COMMUTATOR DIAMETER
7. INSPECT FIELD COIL FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
8. INSPECT FIELD COIL FOR GROUND
9. 2.0 kW TYPE: INSPECT SHUNT COIL FOR RESISTANCE
12. INSPECT BRUSH HOLDER INSULATION
14. INSPECT CLUTCH PINION GEAR
16. IF NECESSARY, REPLACE FRONT BEARING
18. IF NECESSARY, REPLACE REAR BEARING
19. DO PULL-IN COIL OPEN CIRCUIT TEST
20. DO HOLD-IN COIL OPEN CIRCUIT TEST
REPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE MAGNETIC SWITCH END COVER
2. INSPECT CONTACT PLATE FOR WEAR
4. REINSTALL TERMINAL KIT PARTS
6. CLEAN CONTACT SURFACES OF CONTACT PLATE AND PLUNGER
7. REINSTALL MAGNETIC SWITCH END COVER
3. INSPECT CLUTCH PINION GEAR RETURN
4. DO NO-LOAD PERFORMANCE TEST
STARTER RELAY
INSPECTION
1. REMOVE STARTER RELAY (Marking:”ST”)
2. INSPECTION RELAY CONTINUITY
