Starting a program

In the left pane of the window, click
Accessories
.
Windows
®
Explorer shows the contents of the
Accessories
folder on the right side of the window.

In the right pane of the window, double-click
WordPad.exe
.
WordPad opens.
To close the program, click the
Close
button in the
upper-right corner of the program’s window.
Starting a program from the Run dialog box
This example uses the Run command to start WordPad.exe:

Click
Start
, then click
Run
.
The Run dialog box appears.

In the Run dialog box:

If the program is in the Windows
®
NT folder, type just the
program name.
❖
If you know the program’s location, type the full file path.

Click
OK
.
If you do not know the program’s location, you can search for
it by returning to the
Start
menu and clicking
Search
. Follow
the instructions on the Search screen.
