WARNING
Wear a pair of gloves.
Otherwise, you will risk an injury involving
a replacement part or some other object.
Before starting the work, be sure to recover the
refrigerant of outdoor unit by removing it with a
refrigerant recovery device.
1. Detachment
1)

Remove the lower cabinet (front side).
(M5 × 10, 7 pcs.)
Remove the inverter
assembly.
(See the inverter assembly dismantling method
under item 4.)

Disconnect the 4-way valve coil and PMV1 coil
(1 piece) and SV51,
52 coils (2 pieces) and get
all wiring located near the 4-way valve out of
the way.

Remove brazed points (
3
locations) for the PMV
assembly, which is placed in front of the 4-way
valve.
* Provide adequate cover for the PMV to protect it
from overheating.
5)
Since it is difficult to simultaneously remove the
brazed points for the pipes located above the 4-
way valve (3
locations
), cut through them just
below
the brazed points using a saw, etc.
6)Remove brazed point (1 location) for pipe
located below of the 4-way valve.
7)
Remove the end sections of the pipes above the
4-
way valve, which were cut in
procedure
5).
3)
Reinstall all the coils removed in
detachment
procedure
3), and put the wiring back to its initial
state.
4)
Reinstall the inverter
assembly.

under item 4.)
5)
Reinstall the lower cabinet.

Install a new 4-way valve.
* Provide adequate cover for the 4-way valve to
protect it from overheating. During the installation,
insert pipes firmly into the 4-way valve, or a
blockage or leakage involving brazing filler metal
may result.

Reinstall the PMV assembly, which was removed
in
detachment procedure

* Provide adequate cover for the PMV to protect it
from overheating.
