Managing Your Tecra 8100 Computer

Security management

Eject password

A user can enable the notebook’s eject password when docked. 
This function requires that the user input a password prior to the 
notebook ejecting from the docking station, thus preventing 
unauthorized users from removing the computer from the docking 
station, making the system that much less vulnerable to theft and/
or damage.

Dock prevention lock

The Toshiba dock prevention lock is embedded into a docking 
station itself and prevents unauthorized hot-docking. The dock 
prevention feature prevents an outsider from easily logging onto a 
LAN connection point via the docking station and tampering with 
data files.

Cable connection

Toshiba portable and desktop computers are designed to accept a 
PORT-Noteworthy Computer Lock Cable. Using an optional 
compact PORT-Noteworthy Computer Lock Cable and durable 
galvanized steel cable, users may secure their Tecra 8100 
computer to their table or desk, safe from potential theft or 
damage.
