Getting Started

Using the computer for the first time

Read the license agreement, click the button labeled

I accept

the agreement

Setup displays the Date/Time Properties box.

Setting your time zone, date, and time

The Date/Time Properties dialog box has two tabs. Click a tab to
make it active.

❖

On the Time Zone tab, select your time zone by clicking the
up and down arrow keys.

❖

On the Date and time tab, set the correct date and time, if
necessary.

When you have finished, click

Close

. If a printer is connected,

Setup displays the Add Printer Wizard.

Setting up a printer

If you started your computer with a printer connected and turned
on, it may have been detected automatically (Plug and Play). If
this is not the case, then you have to install the printer driver for
the model of printer that is connected to your computer, either
following the instructions indicated in your printer manual, or
using the Windows Add Printer Wizard.

To use the Add Printer Wizard:

Next

and follow the instructions in the Add Printer

Wizard. If you plan to set up a printer later, click

Cancel

.

Set the port to LPT1 for a parallel printer or COM1 for a serial
printer. (If you are not sure which type of printer you have,
check your printer manual.)

If your printer is not listed in the Printers dialog box, it
probably came with its printer driver on a diskette or CD-
ROM. Connect the external USB diskette drive, insert the
