Transferring files to another computer

Double-click 

Modems

The Modem Properties dialog box appears. Your modem 
should be listed next to one of the computer’s COM ports.

Make a note of the COM port to the modem is connected to.

TECHNICAL NOTE: Windows NT communicates with the 
modem and displays identifying information reported by the 
modem. If Windows NT cannot communicate with the 
modem, it displays an error message. If this happens, 
consult the troubleshooting sections of your modem and 
Windows NT documentation.

Close Control Panel.

Transferring files to another computer

One method for transferring files is to write them to a diskette and 
read them into another computer. The drawback to this method is 
that a high-density diskette can only hold 1.44 MB.

To transfer a large amount of information between computers, you 
can use the Windows 98 Second Edition Briefcase and the 
computer’s infrared port, or the serial or parallel ports on the LAN 
Port Replicator or optional expansion device.
