Expansion Options
Using the optional I/O Adapter
Use the parallel port to connect a parallel printer or other parallel
device.
Use the serial port to connect a serial mouse, serial printer or other
serial device.
The Line out jack allows you to send stereo sound from the
computer’s sound system to an external audio device.
You can connect a PS/2-compatible keyboard or mouse to the
PS/2 port. Alternatively, you can attach an optional Y-cable to
connect both a PS/2 compatible keyboard and a PS/2 mouse
simultaneously.
The Universal Serial Bus (USB) port provides a connection for the
external USB diskette drive and other USB peripherals.
You can connect to a network using the RJ45 network port.
Attaching a special cable to the antitheft security lock slot lets you
anchor your optional Multimedia Port Replicator to a large, heavy
object, such as your desk.
Use the PC Card eject button to remove the PC Card and the PC
Card spacekeeper.
Connecting the Multimedia Port Replicator to the computer
You connect the Multimedia Port Replicator to the expansion port

The I/O Adapter is a smaller, more portable unit than the LAN
Port Replicator and optional Multimedia Port Replicator. It
provides the ports you are most likely to need when visiting
another location.
