Getting started
Turning the TV on
To conserve energy it is best to turn your TV off and not to leave it in standby.
Connect the power cord.
Switching on the TV
Press the
POWER switch
on the TV until it clicks.
The Power indicator lights in
red. Press the
button on the
remote control if the picture
does not exist.
Quick Setup menu automatically
starts (only the first time the TV
is turned on). Follow the steps
and complete the settings.
To exit Quick Setup, press EXIT
or turn off the TV (see page 14
for details).
Note:
• You can also turn on the TV by pressing one of the number
buttons (0 - 9) on the remote control instead of the
button. By pressing the number (one digit only) where the
channel you want to watch is preset, you can turn on the
TV with your selected channel at the same time.
• When the remote control is not at hand, you can turn on the
TV by pressing the –
+ or
P
buttons on the TV
control panel.
Switching off the TV
Press the
button on the remote control to switch to the
standby mode.
To switch the TV off, press the
POWER switch on the TV.
Power indicator will be switched off.
Note:
• This TV is not completely disconnected from a power supply line,
as minute current is consumed even when the
POWER
switch is turned off.
When the TV will not be used for a long period of time, such as
during vacation or travel, remove the power plug from the wall
outlet.
• The TV will automatically turn itself off after approximately 15
minutes if it is tuned to a vacant channel or a station that
completes its broadcast for the day. This feature does not work in
external input mode or PC mode.
• Press the
button on the remote control to switch on the TV while
the Panel lock is set.
• If the power is cut off while you are viewing the TV, the Last
Mode Memory feature turns the TV on automatically when the
power is resupplied.

About the Quick Setup menu
Quick Setup menu is the feature which
provides on-screen instructions for you to set
up colour system and languages with ease.
The Quick Setup menu automatically starts
only the first time the TV is turned on. You
can restart it at any time from SET UP menu.
See page 14 for details.
