Lubrication
Greasing the Machine
Service Interval:
Every 400 hours/Yearly (whichever
comes first)—Grease the deck-idler
pivots.
Yearly—Grease the deck drive PTO.
Grease more frequently when operating conditions
are extremely dusty or sandy.
Grease Type:
No. 2 lithium or molybdenum grease
1.
Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch, and engage the parking
brake.
2.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3.
Clean the grease fittings with a rag.
Note:
Make sure that you scrape any paint off
the front of the fitting(s).
4.
Connect a grease gun to the fitting.
5.
Pump grease into the fittings until grease begins
to ooze out of the bearings.
6.
Wipe up any excess grease.
Refer to the following chart for fitting locations and
lubrication schedule.

Lubricating the Drive
U-Joints and Splined Slip
Joint
Service Interval:
Every 50 hours—Grease the drive
U-joints and splined slip joint.
Note:
For easier access to the drive U-joints and
splined slip joint, remove the floor pan and fully lower
the mower deck.
1.
Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch, and engage the parking
brake.
2.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3.
Clean the grease fittings with a rag.
4.
Connect a grease gun to the fitting.
5.
Pump grease into the fittings until grease begins

6.
