Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause Corrective Action
1. The auxiliary hydraulics
lever is not in the neutral
position.
1. Move the lever to the
neutral position.
2. The battery is
discharged.
2. Charge the battery or
replace it.
3. The electrical
connections are
corroded or loose.
3. Check the electrical
connections for good
contact.
The starter does not crank
4. The relay or switch is
damaged.

1. The fuel tank is empty. 1. Fill the fuel tank with
gasoline.
2. The choke is not on. 2. Move the choke lever
fully forward.
3. The air cleaner is dirty. 3. Clean or replace the air

loose or disconnected.
4. Install the wires on the
spark plugs.

pitted, fouled, or the gap

gapped spark plugs.

lter.

The engine will not start,

from the cooling ns and
air passages.
5. The spark plugs are
pitted, fouled, or the gap
is incorrect.
5. Install new, correctly
gapped spark plugs.
6. There is dirt in the fuel
lter.
6. Replace the fuel lter.
The engine loses power.
7. Dirt, water, or stale fuel
is in fuel system.
