Using the camera as a USB Webcam
First of all you should know that the USB port of the T7E series camera is only used for local video
recording. That is, it only supports connecting USB storage devices, not connecting to a computer. And we
think you have successfully set up the camera network, otherwise please read the "
Set up the camera
network
" section first.
One of the best solutions is to use an HDMI or SDI capture card for a lower latency experience. But it
should be noted that many HDMI capture cards on the market do not have the ability to output
1080P@60fps video, although they promise. These capture cards can be set to 1080P@60fps, but the real
USB video output is only 1080P@30fps. So please buy a well-known brand of HDMI capture card.
Another solution is to use some third-party tools to use it as a virtual camera. Make it available in some
apps like Zoom. You can easily find some tutorials about these on YouTube.
For example, the T7E-SDI camera can use SplitCam to take the network video stream as input.
For T7E-NDI, because it supports NDI, you can use SplitCam to take the NDI source as input or use the
"NDI® Webcam Input", to get lower latency.
Using NDI® Webcam Input For T7E-NDI
First you need to download NDI Tools from NewTek, the download address is:
. After
you install it, you should be able to find "Webcam Input" in the NDI 5 Tools folder, please run it.
