Safety information
Read the operating instructions carefully and observe in particular the safety
instructions. If you do not follow the safety information and information on
proper handling in these operating instructions, we will assume no liability for
any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate
the warranty/guarantee.
a) Power adapter
• The design of the power adapter complies with Protection Class II. Only connect
the power adapter to a standard mains socket connected to the public supply grid.
• The mains socket must be located near the product and be easily accessible.
• If the power adapter shows signs of damage, do not touch it, as there is a risk of
death from an electric shock!
Fully disconnect the mains voltage for the mains socket to which the power ad
-
apter is connected (e.g. turn off the corresponding circuit breaker or unscrew the
fuse, and then turn off the residual current circuit breaker). Unplug the mains ad
-
apter from the mains socket and take the product to a specialist repair centre.
• Check the power adapter for damage before each use!
• If you detect any damage, DO NOT connect the product to the mains supply!
Danger to life!
• The power adapter and gateway are only suitable for indoor use in dry locations.
They must be protected from moisture and dampness; never touch them with wet
hands!
b) General information
• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets. An electric
shock can be life threatening!
• Do not leave the packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, flam
-
mable gases, vapours and solvents. Do not place the product under any mecha
-
nical stress.
• Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may
damage the product.
• Only clear, clean fresh water may be used as the pumped liquid. The product is
not suitable for controlling the conveyance of drinking water or corrosive/caustic,
flammable or explosive liquids (e.g. petrol, heating oil, cellulose thinner), fats, oils,
salt water or waste water from toilet facilities.
• Check the product for signs of damage before each use. If you discover any da
-
mage, do not use the product.
• In the place of operation, the ambient temperature must not be close to or below
freezing (<0 °C). Otherwise, the water in the product will freeze, and the resulting
ice build-up will destroy the pump. Store the product in a dry place above freezing
point during winter.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are
connected to this product.

Intended use
The water timer is intended for connection to a suitable water tap. The time and duration of
watering can be programmed according to the readings from the soil moisture sensor. Only
clear, clean fresh water may be used as the pumped liquid.
The water timer is operated by four AA batteries, and the soil moisture sensor by three AAA
batteries (not included, available separately).
The system can be controlled and programmed via the “
Smart Life – Smart Living
” app in
connection with the gateway. A free account is necessary to use the app. This must be created
during the initial app setup.
The gateway is powered by the supplied power adapter.
The water timer and soil moisture sensor are suitable for outdoor use (IP54/IP65). However,
the gateway and power adapter can only be used in indoor areas. Contact with moisture, for
example, in bathrooms, must be avoided.
For safety and approval purposes, do not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product
for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as short circuit, fire or electric shock. Read the operating instruc
-
tions carefully and store them in a safe place. Only make this product available to third parties
together with its operating instructions.
