Base / filter basket
1. Press the release tabs to remove the filter.
2. Determine the best location.
-
Make sure the pump body can be removed for cleaning in this position.
-
If installing one pump, it should be placed where the water is deepest when the boat stops.
3. Attach the filter basket.
-
Attaching to wood block: use marine grade stainless steel self-tapping screws.
-
Attaching to metal or glass fiber: install a piece of wood first, then fix to the wood.
4. Connect a hose to the outlet nozzle and clamp using a marine grade stainless-steel clamp.
-
Use the correct hose size. Using a hose with smaller diameter will not damage the pump but will
restrict flow.
-
It is recommended to use a non-kink hose.
Wiring
IMPORTANT!
•
The power supply must not exceed 12 V/DC. Higher voltages will damage the pump.
•
To prevent electrolysis and corroded wire connections, wire ends and terminals should be sealed
with heavy duty marine sealant and located above the highest possible water level.
•
Always install the correct fuse type and specification. Failure to do so can cause pump malfunc
-
tion and result in personal injury and / or fire hazard.
•
Always disconnect the power supply when installing or servicing electrical parts.
•
Use ø1.29 mm (16 AWG) wiring. If the installation is over 50 cm (20”) from the battery source,
the wire size should be increased to 14 gauge. Lower guages can cause overheating and reduce
the pumps performance.
•
Never insert fingers or other objects into the impeller inlet.

b) Automatic operation
It is recommended to use a panel switch with a “fail-safe” feature. This automatically returns the switch to the
OFF position. This prevents the pump from being left ON.

Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible cause
Solution
Reduced flow
Clogged filter
Remove debris around filter and impeller.
Discharge line plugged
Backflush the hose.
Low battery voltage
Check the battery and charge if needed.
Kinked discharge hose
Use a non-king hose / remove kink(s).
Incorrect polarity
The brown wire of the pump should be connected
to positive (+).

Check wiring and connections.
Melted fuse
Check fuse is or correct type, check impeller is not
jammed by debris.
Float switch failure (float
switch sold separately)
•
Lift float switch up. If pump activates, switch is
working correctly.
•
If pump does not activate, manually switch the
pump on. If it switched on manually, the auto
-
matic switch has failed.
Pump will not
switch off
Something under float
Check if any debris is holding the float switch up.
Stuck float
Check for debris or gummy build up. If needed,
soack the switch in marine cleaner for 10 minutes.
Switch mounted too low
If the pump is sucking air and the automatic switch
has not reached the OFF position, it may need to be
reinstalled slightly higher than the pump base.
Overheated wires /
melted insulation
• Stuck impeller
•
Incorrect fuse
•
Check impeller.
•
Reduce fuse to correct size.
•
Replace damaged wiring and/or switch.
Fuse always blowing Fuse size or jammed
impeller
Check the fuse rating is correct, and the impeller is
not blocked.
Maintenance and storage
IMPORTANT!
•
Never disconnect the filter basket while the pump is running.
•
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they
can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
•
Regularly inspect electrical wiring and connections.
•
Remove debris that has accumulated around the filter baslet, pump chamber and impeller.
