• When deploying the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor
pinched.
• Do not leave the packaging material unattended, since it could become a dange-
rous plaything for children.
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the
industrial workers‘ society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
• If safe operation is no longer possible, take the device out of service and secure
it against unintended use. Safe operation is no longer possible, if the product:
- has visible damage,
- no longer functions properly,
- has been stored under adverse ambient conditions for an extended period of
time or
- has been exposed to considerable strain during transport.
• Please handle the product carefully. The product can be damaged if crushed,
struck or dropped, even from a low height.
• If you have doubts about how the product should be operated or how to safely
connect it, consult a trained technician.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair work may be carried out only by an expert or
a specialist workshop.

Install/change an attachment
An attachment may only be installed, removed or changed when the motor unit is
turned off and the drive has stopped spinning. There is a risk of serious injury, if this
is not observed! This will also ruin the product and void the warranty!
• Switch off the motor unit by the switch (2). Wait until the motor has come to a complete
standstill.
• If the attachment should be removed, turn it by 90° backwards and then pull it out of the
motor unit.
• In order to install the attachment push it fully into the opening (3) of the motor unit.
The attachment fits only in one orientation (turn the attachment by 90° backwards
and then insert it into the motor unit).
• Now swivel the attachment by 90° forward until it seats securely locked in the motor unit. The
feet of the motor unit and the attachment must be on the same level.
• Put the assembled unit on a level, sturdy surface.
Drill bit sharpener
a) Sharpening drill bits
The product is only suitable for sharpening steel spiral drill bits.
Carbide bits, rock bits and specially shaped wood bits may not be sharpened.
Extremely damaged drill bits should be prepared by pre-grinding coarsely with a
different grinder so that the sharpening stone in the drill bit sharpener are not worn
down.
• Install the drill bit sharpener attachment into the motor unit.
To do this proceed as described in chapter „Install/change an attachment“.
• Lower the sharpening stone in the drill bit sharpener. To this end, turn the knob (10) to the left
in a counter-clockwise direction (see label „DOWN“ on the knob) until it stops.
• Insert the drill bit into the appropriate opening (11). The corresponding drill bit diameters are
located next to the openings respectively.
The grinding of drill bits with intermediate sizes is not possible; the drill bits will
become useless because they will shake in the opening. Moreover, there is risk of
damage to the drill bit sharpener!
• Turn the drill bit carefully in a clockwise direction until you feel it has snapped into place at
the end of the opening slot.
• Turn the motor unit on (switch position „I“ = continuous operation; switch position „II“ = inching
mode as long as the switch is pressed).
• Turn the rotary knob (10) slowly to the right in a clockwise direction (see label „UP“ on the
knob) until you can hear a grinding noise.
Use the rotary knob to adjust the position of the sharpening stone in the drill bit
sharpener. The more you turn the knob clockwise to the right (in the direction „UP“),
the greater is the contact pressure between the sharpening stone and the drill bit.
Do not turn the knob too far up, otherwise the sharpening stone will be grinding at
the housing.
• Raise the drill bit a few millimetres and rotate it by 180°. Insert the drill bit into the drill bit
sharpener again, so that the second edge can be sharpened.
• If necessary, repeat the process until both edges are sharpened (and both cutting edges of
the drill bit are of the same length or the same angle).
• Then turn the motor unit off by the switch (2) (the switch is in central position „O“ here).
b) Changing the sharpening stone
The sharpening stone in the drill bit sharpener will wear out during use. When you
notice that the sharpening performance decreases or is uneven, the stone has to be
replaced. In such cases, always use original spare parts.
Before changing the sharpening stone, turn off the motor unit and wait for the drive
to stand still. Then remove the attachment from the motor unit.
• Undo the four screws on the upper side using a suitable Phillips screwdriver and remove the
cover by lifting it upwards.
• Remove the sharpening stone including the holder (the upper part of the axis is lubricated
with some grease).
• Open the stone holder with an open-end wrench (22 mm) and take out the metal disc and the
old sharpening stone (remember the orientation).
This is a left-hand thread, thus to open, turn it to the right in a clockwise direction!
• Install the new sharpening stone into the stone holder with the flat edge facing down and
insert the metal disc.
• Re-tighten the bolting with the open-end wrench. Do not use force, otherwise the sharpening
stone might break.
This is a left-hand thread, thus in order to tighten turn it to the left in a counter-
clockwise direction!
• Insert the sharpening stone into the drill bit sharpener. Turn the sharpening stone to the left
or to the right until it fits again precisely on the drive shaft, as otherwise the cover will not
fully fit/mount.
• Replace the cover and tighten the screws.
