Fault Cause Remedy
The lower strap slips during
tension operation.
Distance between tension/feed
wheel and gripper plate (0.2 mm)
isn‟t correct. Set the correct distance between
tension/feed wheel and gripper
plate, see 8.3.
Gripper plates are dirty or
defective.
Clean gripper plates or replace
them if they are defective, see 9.3
– 9.4.
Use of inappropriate plastic strap.
Use appropriate plastic strap, ask
your TITAN
– Adviser for advice.
Insufficient welding performance.
Welding time too short or too
long. Set the correct welding time, see
8.1.
Gripper plate, welding (24) is dirty
or worn.
Clean gripper plate, welding (24)
or replace it, see 9.4.
Welding time is hardly adjustable
and not constant. Time valve in the compressed air
valve
(505) dirty or defective.
Clean time valve in the
compressed air valve
(505) and
lubricate or replace it, contact

Plastic strap welded incorrect,
sealing not O.K. Upper
strap isn‟t
completely cut and cutting isn‟t

Welding time too short.
Check welding time and increase
it if necessary.
Welding motor (501) is dirty or
blocked.
When welding motor (501) is dirty

Error in compressed air system.
Check constant air pressure and
repair it if necessary.
Compressed air valve (505)
defective.
Check function of compressed air
valve
(505) and contact TITAN

Service if it‟s defective.
Pressure spring (20) defective. Replace pressure spring (20) .
Use of inappropriate plastic strap.
Use appropriate plastic strap, ask
your TITAN

During the welding operation both
straps are cutted. Gripper plate (78) dirty or
defective.
Clean gripper plate (78) or
replace it when defective, see 9.3
– 9.4.
Tension force is too high.
Set the correct tension force, see
8.2.
Welding time too long.
Set the correct welding time, see
8.1.
After sealing and actuating push-

(66) tension motor (504)
will not turn back, strap isn‟t
released.
If the strap cannot be freed.
Cut off the strap from the
package and dismount the bottom
plate

problem zone.
Don’t use tools to
remove the stuck strap from
the tool.
