2. HSW tank heating mode (17 KDZ and 17 KDZ5)
Setting: Service switch DS1 – OFF, DS2 as mentioned before, DS3 – OFF.
The work cycle of this boiler mode starts when the tank thermostat is activated. The intercepting valve
relay becomes activated and changes over to the HSW tank heating position. After roughly 8 seconds, the pump
and automatic ignition system start operating. The boiler ignites at the initial output (10 seconds after the boiler
ignition) and consequently increases the output to maximum in order to raise the output temperature to 80°C as
soon as possible. This temperature is maintained by means of the PID type output regulation. When the tank is
warm enough, the thermostat becomes disconnected and the combustion in the boiler stops. The pump stops after
10 seconds and turns off the intercepting valve relay which forces it to return back into the heating position. While
the valve is changing over to the other position (approx. 8 seconds), any request for ignition will be ignored. The
boiler can subsequently continue in the heat-up of the heating system (depending on the setting).
In the case of concurrent requests, HSW tank heating has preference over the heating system.
Additional functions:

After the boiler combustion stops, the ventilator continues running for further 20 seconds at the speed of the
initial output (removal of the combustion product from the combustion chamber).

Regular pump start-up if boiler does not operate (for 30 seconds after 24 hours of inactivity).

Regular contact making of the intercepting valve (for 10 seconds after 24 hours of inactivity)

Anti-freeze protection becomes activated if the temperature in the boiler drops below 6°C. The intercepting
valve changes over into the heating position (depending on the boiler type), the pump starts up and the boiler
ignites and heats up the heating circuit to 30°C. After this temperature is reached, it turns off.

Repeated control of the flow switch becomes activated if the flow switch does not make a contact within 15
seconds of the pump's operation. The pump stops operating after 45 seconds and another attempt for boiler
activation is made. This is repeated 10 times. The boiler must be then turned off and on by the operating mode
knob. If the pump inactivity time exceeded 30 minutes, the first interval of the pump operation becomes
extended to 180 seconds. Intervals between the attempts are indicated according to the following table of error
indication.
A service engineer authorized by the manufacturer is obliged to make the user demonstrably familiar with
the boiler operation, its individual parts, safety devices and boiler operation, complete the letter of guarantee
and hand over this manual for operation.
The user is obliged to observe correct use of the boiler in line with this manual which is a condition for the
acknowledgement of the warranty. It is also strictly forbidden to interfere with any of the secured components in
the boiler.
