Temperature erratic or no control
over temperature. 1. Triac malfunction.

Door switch does not cut power to
the furnace chamber. 1. Door switch not functioning. 1. Realign or replace door switch.
Repeated element burn-out. 1. Overheating furnace.

3. Control malfunction (printed
circuit board).
4. Wrong element.
5. Oxidized thermocouple.
6. Contamination present from
previous burnout.
7. Wired improperly.
1. Keep furnace under maximum
temperature. Closer supervision
of control setting.
2. Enclose material in container.
Clean up spills in chamber.
Ventilate chamber by leaving
door cracked slightly open when
heating known harmful reagents.
3. Replace printed circuit board.
4. Install proper element.
5. Replace thermocouple.
6. Clean and/or replace insulation
material.
7. Check wiring diagram for correct
wiring of your furnace.
Inaccurate temperatures. 1. Oxidized or contaminated
thermocouple.
2. Poor thermocouple connections.
3. Triac malfunction.
4. Improper loading.
5. Poor ventilation of base.
6. Temperature dial knob has
slipped on shaft.
7. Control out of calibration.
