8 Preparing for sterilization

Evaluating the result of the Bowie & Dick test

♦

Allow the STERICLIN Bowie & Dick simulation test pack to cool.

♦

Open the STERICLIN Bowie & Dick simulation test pack.

♦

Remove the indicator test sheet from the middle of the test pack.

♦

Enter the required data (batch number, date, place of installation and

serial number of the sterilizer from the type plate) on the indicator test

sheet of the STERICLIN silumation test pack.

♦

Analyze the indicator test sheet based on the supplied fact sheet.

The STERICLIN indicator test sheet has a colour-based design, changing from
blue to pink when sterilizing conditions are flawless.

DANGER

If the indicator test sheet of the STERICLIN Bowie & Dick
simulation test pack does not change its colour uniformly and
thoroughly, optimal sterilizing conditions are not ensured.
In this case, please contact a service agency without delay and
stop using the sterilizer.

Evaluating the result of the Helix test system

♦

Allow the test object with indicator system to cool.

♦

Open the indicator chamber and remove the indicator strip.

♦

Stick the indicator strip to the supplied documentation sheet.

♦

Enter the required data (batch number, date, place of installation and

serial number of the sterilizer from the type plate) on the indicator test

sheet of the documentation sheet (included).

♦

Analyze the indicator strip.

This indicator strip also works with a colour system. When sterilizing conditions are
flawless, all four bars turn black.

DANGER

If the indicator strip of the test object with indicator system
(helix test) does not reveal four uniformly blackened bars,
optimal sterilizing conditions are not ensured. In this case,
please contact a service agency without delay and stop using
the sterilizer.
