Utility Connections

A. 6 feet of 1/2" OD tubing is supplied along with

a 1/2" OD x 3/8" NPTM adapter. Wrap Teflon®

tape 1 1/2 to 2 times around this fitting and

install in your incoming feedwater line. Con-

nect the 1/2 OD tubing (refer to Figure C:

Typical Polypropylene Tubing Adapter Installa-

tion) to this fitting and the fitting included on

the ULTROpure. It is recommended that a

customer supplied shutoff valve be installed

on the incoming water line.

B. Connect a sufficient length of 3/8" OD flexible

tubing to the fitting labeled “Reject” on the

right side of the ULTROpure. The unconnect-

ed end should be firmly fastened to an

atmospheric drain. DO NOT RESTRICT THIS

LINE IN ANY WAY.

C. Connect Product line to drain until you finish

flushing the membrane.

Membrane

Installation/Replacement

Installation of the Barnstead reverse osmosis membrane

in the ULTROpure requires the following tools: large slot

blade screwdriver and an open end 5/8" wrench. Install

the membrane by the following steps:

A. If not previously removed, remove top cover

by removing the two screws on the right and

left bottom back corner of the ULTROpure and

pull straight out.

B. Remove the lower cabinet by releasing the

two clamps on both sides of the ULTROpure

and pulling straight out.

Note

If you are replacing an installed mem-

brane, first remove the old membrane

and housing by reversing the following

installation procedure. (i.e. reversing

step L through step A).
