Dilute

high salt
E-Gel
™
EX gels are sensitive to high salt and EDTA content. Samples containing ≥50 mM NaCl,
100 mM KCl, 10 mM acetate ions, or 10 mM EDTA (i.e., certain restriction enzyme and PCR
buffers) cause loss of resolution on E-Gel
™
agarose gels.
Dilute samples as suggested below:

Safe agarose gels 2-10 fold.

Dilute the ladder accordingly with deionized water or 1X E-Gel

Sample Loading Buffer.
•
Use the indicated amount of ladder per well.
Overloading the ladder will result in distorted
or incomplete band separation.
