The chapter on Basic Settings explains how to change
the values.
Note:
At elevations of 0-1300 ft. (0-400 m) it is not
necessary to adjust the boiling point. Begin cooking with
the factory settings. If you are not satisfied with the level
of boiling, change the boiling point setting.
Setting the temperature range
There are five temperature ranges for CookSmart™:

CAUTION
Even though the Sensor Dome™ is retracted, its
cover will get hot when the adjacent heating
element is on.
The cooktop must be turned on.
1.
Place food in the pot and add liquid.
Note:
Fill at least to 1 ¼" (3 cm) deep. Fill specialized
pots at least to the reference mark.

Place the pot in the center of the heating element and
cover with the lid.
3.
Press the SensorDome™ for the desired heating
element to cause the sensor to extend out.
The heating element is selected.

Touch the desired temperature range in the setting
area. CookSmart™ is activated.
The temperature range that you selected will appear in
the display along with a dot, which will continue to be lit
until the proper temperature has been reached. An
audible signal will be issued, and the dot will disappear.
CookSmart™ keeps the temperature of the pot within the
temperature range that you set.
Changing the temperature range
Set the desired temperature range in the setting area or

Turning off CookSmart™
Retract the SensorDome™ for the heating element, or set
to 0 with the number keys. The heating element will turn
off after about 10 seconds. The residual heat indicator
will appear.
Note:
You can also put food in hot liquids. Fill the pot
with liquid only. Adjust settings as described in 3 and 4
above. When the desired temperature is reached and an
audible signal sounds, place the food in the liquid.
