Using and caring for the Maternity & Nursing Pillow
During pregnancy . . .
During the latter stages of pregnancy you may find it difficult to relax and sleep properly.
The original Theraline maternity and nursing pillow will totally support your bump as
you lay on your side. You can position the pillow from the front or back (Figs 1 + 3).
By supporting your legs and bump, your back will become much more comfortable al-
lowing you to sleep. If the pillow is wrapped around you this too will prevent you from
rolling on to your back.
During breastfeeding . . .

When you begin to breastfeed you may experience some tension in the shoulder, neck
muscles and lower back.
The Original Theraline Maternity and Nursing Pillow lets you totally relax as you breast-
feed. The pillow’s filling which comprises body-hugging beads, will ensure both you
and baby feel really secure and comfortable, whether you are sitting or lying down. To
support your back you can position the pillow in a horseshoe shape from the side, the
front or the back. (See Fig 2+5).
After breastfeeding . . .
...You won’t be able to do without your pillow! It’s great to use overall for relaxing
whether you’re watching TV or reading. It can be used as a little nest or supports your
baby in his or her first attempts at sitting (Fig. 4).
Supporting patients
The Original Theraline Maternity and Nursing Pillow with CE labelling is a medical prod-
uct that can also serve to support those ill and bedridden patients, e.g. to assist them
in changing their position. However, any longer term patient positioning must be done
under the direction of an expert who can ensure the necessary repositioning avoids ex-
posure to pressure points.
The refill degree
We provide you with perfectly filled nursing and support pillows assuring a comfortable
and safe lateral position. Thanks to the handy refill opening at the inlet you nevertheless
can make use of the opportunity to remove filling. This can for example increase flexi-
bility when directly using it as a nursing pillow. Please go to www.theraline.de (Info &

For removing purposes we have equipped the pillow inlet with a self-sealing tunnel
opening. You can find it opposite to the care labels at the outer seam (see image 6).
Roll any DIN A4 page to a tight tube (Ø 1,5 cm) and insert approx. 14 cm of it into the
tunnel opening. When turning the inlet upside down the micro-beads will flow through
the tube and can be collected in a bag. Just remove as much as you need to achieve the
favored filling degree. You can certainly as well refill the inlet this way.
Tip: either do it outside or have a vacuum cleaner ready to remove possibly leaking
micro-beads.
Washability
Both inner cover and pillow case of 100% cotton are washable up to 60°C. To wash the
inner cover and the pillow case, please make sure you read the label attached. Please
make sure you wash the pillow itself in a laundry sack so that no filling beads escape in
the event of a defect. In addition, the pillow cover should be carefully inspected before
washing to check for seam strength or leaks. Warranty shall cease if the pillow is not
washed with a pillow case or laundry bag as this serves to prevent the beads from spill-
ing out if the inlet is damaged.
Tip:
If you don’t have a laundry sack sufficiently large for this you can also wash the
pillow in the outer pillow case. During washing it may happen that with new covers
with strong colours a slight transfer of colour to the inner cover will occur, however this
does not limit its usefulness.
Please note:
Use the tumble dryer only at the lowest level and allow the pillow suf-
ficient space to tumble freely. The pillow has to be able to move freely in the washing
machine and in the dryer. If necessary, remove some of the filling (see section ‚The refill
opening‘). In particular for newer pillows, this will make it easier to place your pillow in
the washing machine.
Tip:
Turn outer pillow cases inside out and wash with a closed zip. Do not wash or dry
with laundry made up of items with different colours.
Disinfection
If you want to disinfect the inner pillow cover, then please use spray disinfectant. In-
ner covers and pillow cases which are coated with polyurethane can be treated with all
customary disinfectants.
Refill
Woven cotton and polystyrene can become less `plump’ over time but if you would like
to preserve the natural fullness of the pillow, more micro beads can be ordered directly

Caution: Danger for children
• Keep all packaging including plastic bags away from children.
• Inspect your nursing pillow regularly and before first use to ensure
there are no leaking beads which could be dangerous to children.
• Every pillow can represent a risk of suffocation for infants. E.g. pillows
can slide over the face during sleep. Never leave your baby
unattended, either on or alongside the Original Theraline Maternity
and Nursing Pillow.
• Using it along the bed edge for example, should only occur after
baby‘s first birthday.
