4. Ensure the target
End-System
(i.e. customer’s board) is powered and the IO voltage of
the I2C lines is 3.3V.
5. Ensure the target device hardware pins and external signals are configured correctly. For
example, the
TAS5766M
requires the XSMT pin to be high and I2S signals to be present
for the tone generator to work.
6.
Connect
the
SCL
,
SDA
and
GND
test
points of the
PurePath™ Console
Motherboard
to the I2C bus of the end-
system, as shown to the right.
7. Click and perform a
System
Calibration
. This process ensures that
the Smart Amp algorithm is properly
scaled based on the amplifier output
gain. Having the loudspeaker
connected provides more accurate
results.
8. Save a .ppc3 file under a new name and disconnect the I2C bus from the end-system.
This will save the
System Calibration
setting for future use.
If connecting I2C lines to the end-system is not possible, it can be estimated by performing the
calibration with the Target EVM and calculating the gain. For example, if the
TAS5766M EVM
GAIN pin is configured for 20dB, but the target GAIN pin in the end-system is 14dB, then
attenuate the
System Gain
obtained with the EVM by 6dB (half). This would yield 14 V/FS down
from 28 V/FS. Refer to Section
