15 FIRMWARE UPDATE
The firmware in the VCI is updated through a specific software function and requires the
connection to the display unit.
Connection to the display unit may be established via:
•
WiFi
•
USB
The available connection modes depend on the display unit
used; however, the Bluetooth connection cannot be used to
update the firmware.
Regardless of the communication mode, during the update:
•
do not turn off the VCI;
•
do not turn off the display unit;
•
do not interrupt the connection between the VCI and the
display unit.
The procedure is the same for all connection modes.
Proceed as follows:
1.
Power the VCI.
2.
Turn on the display unit.
3.
Start the diagnostic software.
4.
Start the VCI firmware update.
5.
Follow on screen instructions.
The VCI displays the progress status of the firmware update procedure:
Wait for the update procedure to complete.
