 DLNA  mode

The Digital Living Network Alliance ( DLNA) is a trade or-
ganisation formed by companies from the computer and 
entertainment industry, which develop common stand-
ards for connecting these devices. The Impaq 8000 is 
a digital media player (DMP) and digital media renderer 
(DMR) certified in accordance with the DLNA.

DMP

As a DMP, the Impaq 8000 is able to connect with 
any local DLNA digital media server (DMS) via the 
network where it can display and play the media 
provided there. DMS are available as programmes for 
all phone and PC operating systems. Some network 
drives (NAS) and video cameras have corresponding 
functions.

You require such a server on your network for DLNA 
operation and DLNA operation must be activated (see 
“DLNA” in the “Network” menu on page 25).

The Impaq 8000 automatically searches for DLNA 
servers on the network and displays them in the “My 
media” menu.

their name.

3. If your DLNA server is not shown, make sure that 

your server is online. Now select the item “DLNA 
search” with the navigation buttons

Your server should appear in the list after a short 
time.

. Shortly afterwards, the file selection (see page 

41) with the items Image, Music and Video will 
appear.

The playback functions for disc, USB and DLNA are 
identical and are described in the section “Playback 
functions” on page38.

DMR

As DMR, the Impaq 8000 will provide its playback 
functions on the network and can be controlled by a 
digital media controller (DMC).

For this, DMR mode must be activated on the menu 
(see “DMR” in the “System” menu on page 26).
