In the menu functions, there are many parameters that 
complicate or even prevent normal operation in the event 
of incorrect settings. If you receiver is behaving “unusu-
ally”, you can restart the device:
1. Push the button

 “ ” on the device.

2. Wait fi ve seconds.
3. Push the button 

15

 “ ” again.

Problem

Possible cause

No or distorted music 
playback. 

The data storage device contains fi les in a 
format other than MP3 or WMA.

Delete the incorrect fi les.

File damaged.

Delete or skip fi le.

Remote control doesn’t 
work.

No line of sight between the remote con-
trol and the device.

Remove any obstacles.

Remote control not pointed properly.

Point the remote control towards the device.

Batteries inserted in the remote control with 
incorrect polarity.

Insert the batteries the right way around (see 
diagram in the battery compartment).

Batteries in the remote control are empty.

Insert new batteries.

Disk tray does not open.

Wrong source is selected.

Select the source „DISC“ (see page 13).

If this doesn’t help, you can reset the receiver to the fac-
tory default. This will set the parameters such as speaker 
size or level back to the normal values (see “System” 
menu on page 16).

 Batteries and rechargeable batteries

 Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not 
be disposed of with household waste!

  Every consumer is required by law to bring all 
batteries and rechargeable batteries, whether 

they contain harmful substances*) or not, to a collection 
point run by the communal authority or borough or run 
commercially, so that they can be disposed of in an envi-
ronmentally friendly manner.    
Please only hand in fully discharged batteries and re-
chargeable batteries!

Disposing of the unit

Used units must not be disposed of with house-
hold waste!

If the unit is no longer operational, every 
consumer is required by law to dispose of used 
devices separately from household waste, 

e.g. at a collection point run by the communal authority 
borough. In this way it is ensured, that used devices are 
properly recycled and that negative consequences on the 
environment are avoided.
For this reason, electrical equipment is labelled with the 
displayed symbol.
