SERVICE

DISASSEMBLING THE AXLE

FOR SAFETY: Before leaving or servicing 
machine, stop on level surface, turn off 
machine, set parking brake, and remove key.

NOTE: A spanner socket is needed to remove the 
large nut securing the service brake assembly to 
the axle.

1.  Empty the hopper and water tank.

2.  Jack up the front end of the machine, place 

jack stands under the front of the machine, and 
lower the machine onto the jack stands. Refer 
to MACHINE JACKING in the MAINTENANCE 
section for additional information.

FOR SAFETY: When servicing machine, block 
machine tires before jacking machine up. Use 
a hoist or jack that will support the weight of 
the machine. Jack machine up at designated 
locations only. Support machine with jack 
stands.

3.  Remove tire from the machine.

4.  Place pan underneath service brake assembly 

for hydraulic 

fl

 uid to drain into when hoses/

parts are being removed.

NOTE: To prevent contaminants from entering 
hydraulic system, thoroughly clean outside of 
hydraulic components before disconnecting 
hydraulic hoses or fi ttings. Cap disconnected 
hoses and open ports and fl ush hoses and fi ttings 
with air, solvent, or hydraulic fl uid.

NOTE: Discard all hydraulic fl uid drained from 
the hydraulic system. Use only new approved 
hydraulic fl uid to replenish hydraulic reservoir.

5.  Disconnect the hydraulic hose from the hub 

and point the hydraulic hose into pan to allow 
hydraulic 

fl

 uid to drain from the system.

6.  Machines with Auto-Lube option: Disconnect 

the Auto-Lube hoses from the top and bottom 
Auto-Lube 

fi

 tting on the steering housing.
