 SERVICE   

REPLACING THE UI (USER INTERFACE) 
CIRCUIT BOARD

FOR SAFETY: Before leaving or servicing 
machine, stop on level surface, set parking 
brake, turn off machine, and remove key.

FOR SAFETY: When servicing machine, 
disconnect battery connections before working 
on machine.

1.  Remove the hardware securing the 

touchscreen assembly to the touchscreen back 
housing.

NOTE: To avoid damaging electronic components, 
a static ground strap must be worn at all times 
while handling these components. Attach the 
other end of the static ground strap to the machine 
chassis.

2.  Carefully tilt the touchscreen assembly out 

from the touchscreen back housing. Do Not 
brake any cable/connector connections when 
tilting the touchscreen assembly.

3.  Disconnect the main wire harness connections 

from the UI circuit board and the control circuit 
board. 

4.  Label the main wire harness camera connector 

lead. The camera connector must be 
reconnected to the same location on the new 
UI circuit board.

5.  Remove the control circuit board from the 

touchscreen assembly.

6.  Disconnect the gold LCD FFC cable from 

terminal J1101 on the UI circuit board. 

NOTE: Terminal J1101 is equipped with a back fl ip 
lock type connector. Only the black colored portion 
of the connector is designed to move. Applying 
force to any other part of the connector could 
damage the connector.

7.  Disconnect the gold touch sensor FFC cable 

from terminal J1100 on the UI circuit board. 

NOTE: Terminal J1100 is equipped with a front fl ip 
lock type connector. Carefully fl ip the dark brown 
lock up and remove the cable. Applying excessive 
force to the lock could damage the connector.

8.  Remove the damaged/malfunctioning UI circuit 

board from the touchscreen assembly.

9.  Install the new UI circuit board into the 

touchscreen assembly.

10. Ensure the terminal latches at terminal J1100 

and terminal J1101 on the UI circuit board are 
in the open position.

11. Insert the gold touch sensor FFC cable and the 

gold LCD FFC cable into the UI circuit board 
terminals until both are completely seated.

12. Carefully push both latch bars closed.

13. Check the cable connections. Gently tug the 

touch sensor FFC cable and LCD FFC cable 
to ensure they are securely locked into the 
terminal. 

NOTE: The touch sensor FFC cable at J1100 may 
have some side-to-side play, even when correctly 
inserted and latched.

14. Reinstall the control circuit board onto the 

longer standoffs in the touchscreen assembly. 
The two large harness connectors must be on 
the same side as the USB cables.

15. Reconnect all main wire harness connections 

to the control circuit board. The previously 
labeled camera cables must be reconnected 
to the same terminals where they were 
previously connected. If the camera cables 
are not connected to the correct locations, the 
cameras will the reversed on the UI.
