Sentinel 9018524 (05-2019)

 SERVICE   

1.  Start the machine, park the machine on a level 

surface, and press the parking brake switch to 
set the parking brake.

NOTE: The hopper will not lift or tilt unless the 
parking brake switch is set or the service brake 
pedal is applied.

2.  Press and hold the hopper tilt back button until 

the hopper is in the completely tilted position. 

WARNING: High dump vertical 
clearance. Stay clear of overhead 
obstructions and power lines.

3.  Turn off the machine and remove the key from 

the key switch.

FOR SAFETY: Before leaving or servicing 
machine, stop on level surface, set parking 
brake, turn off machine, and remove key.

4.  Remove the hopper support pin from the 

storage location on the right rear fender and 
insert the hopper support into the hole of the 
hopper support cylinder to secure the hopper 
in the tilted position.

WARNING: Raised hopper may fall. 
Engage hopper support pin.

5.  Remove the hardware securing the motor 

guard to the hopper.

6.  Disconnect the camera cable from the rear 

performance view camera.

7.  Cut cable ties securing the camera cable to the 

motor guard.

8.  Remove the motor guard from the hopper.

9.  Remove the hardware securing the fan 

housing plate to the hopper.

10. Carefully lower the vacuum fan assembly so 

it is hanging from the hopper by the hoses. 
Do not brake/damage hydraulic hoses or 
connections.

11. Remove the hardware securing the intake 

impeller to the vacuum fan hydraulic motor 
shaft.

12. Remove the intake impeller from the vacuum 

fan hydraulic motor shaft.

13. Remove the hardware securing the vacuum 

fan hydraulic motor to the fan housing plate.

NOTE: To prevent contaminants from entering 
system, thoroughly clean outside of hydraulic 
components before disconnecting hydraulic hoses 
or fi ttings, cap disconnected hoses and open ports, 
and fl ush hoses and fi ttings with air, solvent, or 
hydraulic fl uid. 

NOTE: Mark hydraulic hoses with locations of 
where they are attached. Markings make it easier 
to reconnect hoses to proper locations. 

14. Disconnect all hoses/

fi

 ttings from the vacuum 

fan hydraulic motor.

15. Reinstall all vacuum fan and hydraulic parts/

components removed to replace the vacuum 
fan hydraulic motor back onto the hopper in 
reverse order of removal.

16. Reconnect the camera cable to the rear 

performance view camera.

17. Use several cable ties to secure the camera 

cable to the same location where it was 
previously secured before the motor guard was 
removed from the hopper.

18. Reinstall the motor guard onto the hopper.

19. Remove the hopper support pin and 

completely lower the hopper.

20. Start the machine, lower the hopper, and turn 

off the machine.

21. Check the hydraulic 

fl

 uid level. Replenish the 

hydraulic system as necessary.

NOTE: Discard all hydraulic fl uid drained from the 
system. Use only new approved hydraulic fl uid to 
replenish hydraulic reservoir.
