9. Digital Communications:

RS-232  is  a  standard  communication  protocol  for  linking  computer  and  its  peripheral 

devices  to  allow  serial  data  exchange.  RS-232  communications  uses  the  Modbus 

protocol.  Rs-232  communications  is  not  available  if  Remote  Set  point  is  fitted.  Cable 

screen should be grounded at one point only to prevent earth loops. 

Digital  Communications  (or  ‘comms’  for  short)  allows  the  controller  to  communicate 

with a PC or a networked computer system.
