TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
EM25 – SWITCH/DIMMER, UNIVERSAL RLC 0-300W 2M ("master")
- universal electronic dimmer for ON/OFF switching and dimming of all dimmable lamps
(classical, halogen, LED, CFL ...) and some non-dimmable lamps
- automatically identifies the type of luminary and adjusts the operating mode
- dimming reduces electric power consumption
- soft-start function extends the luminary service life
- operation using integrated microswitches
- integrated memory function (remembers the level of dimming after switching off)
- the optional connection of up to 5 additional control tasters EM26 ("slave")
- linking with alternating switches is not possible
- integrated protection against short circuits, overheating and overloading
- 230V~ 50Hz power supply
- integrated LED illumination, the option of setting the colour and intensity
- allows the replacement of a classic switch – two-wire connection (40-300 W)
(Figures and )
- a three-wire connection achieves full dimming functionality (0-300 W, incl. some LED and
CFL not designed for dimming applications( (Figures and )
- conforms to EN 60669-1, EN 60669-2-1 and EMC Directive
- screw clamping of 1.5 mm2 leads (max. tightening torque 0.4 Nm)
EM26 – CONTROL TASTER 2M ("slave")
- in connection with EM25 ("master"), allows the control of luminaries from different locations
(up to 5), with functionality equal to that of EM25 ("master")
- 230V~ 50Hz power supply
- conforms to EN 60669-1, EN 60669-2-1 and EMC Directive
- screw clamping of 1.5 mm2 leads (max. tightening torque 0.4 Nm)
- in the case of a two-wire connection (Figure ), the connection of each additional control
taster EM26 ("slave") (up to 5 in total) increments the minimum load power by 25 W
DIMMING OPTIONS
1 – incandescent luminary
2 – halogen luminary
4 – electronic transformer
5 – classic transformer
6 – dimming energy saving CFL luminary
7 – dimming LED luminary
8 – some non-dimming energy saving CFL luminary
9 – some non-dimming LED luminary
INSTALLATION DIMENSIONS, INSTALLATION ELEMENTS
INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS
CONNECTION
1. Installation may only be carried out by a professionally qualified person.
2. Connect the switch according to the wiring diagram (Figure or ) or according to
the recommendations for the replacement of existing switches
(Figure , or ).
NOTES:
-
- It is recommended to use the EM27 filter
- All controlled lamps must be the same
- The table of loads is valid for lamps with power factor PF>0.5
USE – NORMAL OPERATION
1. With the load (lamp) switched off, the switch illumination is lit.
2. The load (lamp) is switched on/off by briefly (for less than 1 second) pressing the top/bottom
edge of the push-button
3. Holding the top/bottom edge of the push-button depressed increases/decreases the load
(lamp) luminosity.
4. Upon switching on, the luminosity is always set to the last set level.
5. Setting the minimum desired luminosity:
- start by setting the minimum desired luminosity by means of the push-buttons;
- simultaneously keep the top/bottom edge of the push-button depressed until the load (lamp)
brightens, then release the push-buttons;
- the minimum luminosity level is stored.
6. To change the minimum luminosity level, "reset" the switch (see "setting mode").
SETTING INSTRUCTIONS – SETTING MODE
Setting mode options:
- selecting the programme depending on the load (lamp) type – only in the case of a three-wire
connection;
- selecting the colour and intensity of the push-button illumination;
- clearing the minimum load (lamp) luminosity level.
A. Entering "setting mode"
With the load switched off (push-button illuminated), keep both the top and the bottom edge of
the push-button depressed (for approx. 3 seconds) until the push-button illumination starts
blinking. Release the push-button immediately. The light will blink three times, then turns on
again – we are in "setting mode".
B. Changing push-button illumination colour and intensity
The colour of the push-button illumination can be alternated by repeated short (less than 1
second) depressions on the top/bottom edge of the push-button. Eight colours are available, and
the light may also be disabled. By keeping the top/bottom edge of the push-button depressed,
the intensity of the push-button illumination can be increased/decreased. To exit the setting
mode, see paragraph D; to "reset" the settings, see paragraph C.
C. "Resetting" the existing settings, reading the current connected load, selection the
programme suited to the load and storing new settings (only possible on EM25)
In "setting mode", keep the top and bottom edge of the push-button depressed simultaneously
(for approx. 5 seconds) until the push-button light starts blinking. Release the push-button
immediately. The light will blink five times, then turns on again and the load briefly blinks; "reset"
is complete, the switch automatically exits the "setting mode" and returns to "normal operation".
D. Exit from "setting mode"
Depress the top and bottom edges of the push-button simultaneously, the switch light will blink
three times and turns on again. The switch is then back in "normal operation".
KIT FOR REPLACING EXISTING (CLASSIC) SWITCHES
A. Connection 1
(if only one switch is used to operate one lamp – single pole switch SM10):
1. Withdraw the switch from the wall outlet.
2. Connect the EM25 ("master") switch according to Figure .
B. Connection 2
(if two switches are used to operate one lamp – two alternating switches, SM60):
1. It is MANDATORY to replace BOTH the SM60 switches in the series.
2. Withdraw the switches from the wall outlets.
3. On both the SM60 switches, check for the presence of voltage on terminal L. The switch where
voltage is NOT present on terminal L with the lamp switched off, shall be replaced with the
EM25 ("master") switch, and the other with the EM26 ("slave") switch.
4. Connect the EM25 ("master") switch and EM26 ("slave") switch according to Figure .
C. Connection 3
(if three or more switches are used to operate one lamp – two alternating
switches SM60 + cross-connected switches SM70):
1. It is MANDATORY to replace ALL the SM60 and SM70 switches in the series.
2. Withdraw the switches from the wall outlets.
3. On all the SM60 switches, check for the presence of voltage on terminal L. The SM60 switch
where voltage is NOT present on terminal L with the lamp switched off, shall be replaced with
the EM25 ("master") switch, in the opposite case, the switch shall be replaced with the EM26
("slave") switch.
4. Connect the EM25 ("master") switch and EM26 ("slave") switches according to Figure .
