The PTC does not turn on
•
Charge the nickel-cadmium battery pack or replace
the alkaline battery.
•
If the PTC still does not operate, follow your
organization’s procedure to have the PTC serviced.
The laser scanner does not read a label
•
Make sure the bar-code label you are trying to scan
is one of the bar-code types your scanner has been
programmed to recognize.
•
Move the PTC-960RL closer to or farther away
from the bar-code label. You may not be scanning at
the correct distance.
•
Swivel the scanner to change the angle to the
bar-code label. The PTC may be too far above or
below the bar-code label or too far to the side to
scan properly.
•
Wipe off the label and try again. The label may be
worn or dirty.
•
Clean the scanner lens.
•
Point the scanner at a blank surface and press the
Scan button. Look for the scanning line that
appears on the blank surface when the scanner is
operating. If no scanning line appears, follow your
organization’s procedure to have the PTC serviced.
Your radio fails to establish contact
•
Change your location by a few feet and transmit
again.
